Welcome to the Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy (SuSIE) 2018

SuSIE 2019 Bochum With 50 participants from 24 countries the SuSIE 2018 is fully booked. If you still register, you will be included on our waiting list. Please be ready to accept the invitation to participate at very short notice.

Alternatively you may also already save the date for the 5th SuSIE, which will be held from August 25th to 28th, 2019 in Bochum, Germany. Registration will open in January 2019.

The fourth Summer School on Imaging in Epilepsy (SuSIE) will be held from August 12th to 15th near Marburg, Germany, approximately 90min from Frankfurt Airport. It covers all aspects of structural and functional imaging in clinical work-up, surgical management and research in epilepsy.

The 2018 SuSIE offers:

  • 15 lectures on different structural and functional imaging topics, post-processing methods and their implementation into neurosurgery.
  • 10 clinical hands-on workshops.
  • 2 scientific satellite workshops (on connectivity analysis in epilepsy and MRI coil and sequence development, respectively). 1)
  • 3 sponsored workshops by BESA (3x3h EEG and MEG source analysis), Brainlab (4h workshop on functional planning for epilepsy surgery procedures and post-operative multimodal visualization for interdisciplinary case conferences 1) and Epilog (3h devolved EEG source localization).
  • 2 MAP18-workshops (new release of the former MAP07 by H.-J. Huppertz).
  • The SuSIE Brain Suite illustrates the work flow from MRI and EEG acquisition via EEG source localization to neuronavigation and stereotactic neurosurgery.
  • The SuSIE Marketspace brings together clinicians, scientists and potential buyers with providers of imaging solutions.
  • This year’s key note lecture is held by neurosurgeon Hugues Duffau, Montpellier on the topic: “Do fMRI, DTI-fiber tracking and co tell us the truth? Lessons from direct electrostimulation mapping of the brain”.

We are excited to provide an environment for fruitful discussions, vivid exchange with colleagues and an inspiring key note lecture.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2018 SuSIE at wonderful Rauischholzhausen Castle.

Jörg Wellmer and Susanne Knake

1) The Sunday afternoon scientific workshops and the Sunday afternoon Brainlab Workshop on functional planning for epilepsy surgery procedures and post-operative multimodal visualization for interdisciplinary case conferences are free of charge and can be booked independently of the SuSIE.
